CENTRE D’ART CONTEMPORAIN GENÈVE & Steffani Jemison

Dans le cadre de l’exposition personnelle de l’artiste Steffani Jemison inaugurée le 7 juin prochain, le Centre d'Art Contemporain Genève recherche deux performers pour activer sa nouvelle sculpture lors de deux représentations qui se tiendront le 7 et le 8 juin prochain.

In Succession (2024) is a performance that activates a monumental sculpture resembling a jungle gym made of steel scaffolding. Using an original score for movement and voice devised by Jemison, performers complete a series of tasks on, around, and through the monumental sculpture. The artist writes: "The In Succession series asks such questions as: How can we let our bodies become means—supports—the way that bricks and beams are means? How do we stand on and be stood upon at the same time? How do we decide when to risk it all, together? How are the concepts of risk and possibility inextricably linked? How do we learn on the fly? How do we fly?”

30 May - 6 June 2024, 3-4hrs / rehearsal.

Performance dates

7 June 2024 – 19.00
8 June 2024 – 16.00

COMPENSATION

600 CHF /performance. Two performances.
180 CHF /rehearsal. Five rehearsals.
Total compensation: 2100 CHF
